This painting is called "Rebirth" for many reasons. The main reason being that I began painting the first part of it (most of the colors) in Georgia when I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. I finished the painting in WI where my love and entire life were in contentment. I'm happy with where I am, and the canvas in a way came along for my journey. My mother gave me the canvas for my 22nd birthday last November (2009). During the 800 mile move from GA to WI I had to cut the canvas off of it's wooden beams, and leave my mother and family behind to start my own life with my fiance'. It remained tacked to the wall for a long time. It's probably my most meaningful piece, and I am very proud of it for that reason. It also took me the longest to complete of any painting I've ever attempted. I owe a thousand thanks to !KessM
for allowing me to use her picture as a reference. Her photo spoke to me in a strange way, and allowed me to complete the image you see above. With my eyes, I see my heart all over this canvas. That is unchangeable.
